LIFE's current portfolio of 18 solar projects include 15 Joint Venture projects in the Counties of Wellington (4), Huron (2), Bruce (7), Dufferin (2). These projects, in which LIFE owns between 15 and 50%, have been developed and financed in co-operation with farmers and businesspeople on area rooftops.
LIFE - with its partners in subsidiary corporations, LIFE Solar 1, 2, and 3 Inc. - has also developed three projects with FIT Contracts under the Contract Capacity Set-Aside for Community Co-ops. LIFE owns a 51% stake in these projects, and is committed to maintaining that stake for twenty years. These 3 projects are all located in Cambridge, Ontario, within the Region of Waterloo.
LIFE has also embarked on its first wind project through its subsidiary, Moorefield Wind 1 Inc., which is co-owned with Roubos Wind Energy Ltd. The Moorefield project recently executed a FIT contract for the 500 kW Wind Project, located near Palmerston, ON. The turbine was raised in October 2016, and we continue to work toward finalizing our connection to the grid. LIFE expects to purchase up to 51% of the project from Roubos Wind, which has financed virtually all aspects of the project to date.
